Joshua E. Betancourt, Founder and Chief Investment Strategist
Joshua E. Betancourt is Founder and Chief Investment Strategist of Quantum Capital Investments a Registered Commodity Trading Advisor. Mr. Betancourt attended Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago where he excelled in statistics and mathematics completing a BS in Finance with Cum Laude Honors and graduating in the top 5 percent in the College of Business and Management. After graduation Mr. Betancourt further pursued his interests in the financial futures and options market at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Mr. Betancourt began working as an assistant on the exchange floor for a local Chicago trader and was later promoted to trading assistant. While at the CME, Mr. Betancourt continued to rise in the ranks as a trading apprentice for a local exchange member/ trader. At the CME Mr. Betancourt was exposed to high level money management techniques working alongside institutions and professional money managers and traders. This exposure allowed him to later develop proprietary investment strategies incorporating options and futures in a traditional portfolio.
In December 2003 Mr. Betancourt was recruited by Refco, now known as MF Global, and one of the largest and most respected Futures Commission Merchants in the world. At MF Global, Mr. Betancourt managed the third party systems trading unit and was head of the systematic trading desk. After having achieved success in the Alternative Investment space, Mr. Betancourt joined the Wealth Management division of UBS, managing equity, fixed income, and alternatives. Today, Mr. Betancourt is the Senior Portfolio Manager for Quantum Capital Investments, a firm he helped to establish, where he manages Multi Manager portfolios in futures, currencies, and options. His Investment management approach relies heavily on extensive manager research and the use of quantitative performance metrics to enhance growth and lower risk.
